Robert Cantillon is a Writer, a Musician, and a Theatre Maker. Proudly born and raised in Southington, CT, Robert traveled to New York for college, and has built his artistic home there.

Cantillon has a deep affection and affinity for short theatrical plays, having authored and produced numerous such projects over the past years. His plays have been shown at The Chain Theatre, The Secret Theatre, Teatro Latea, SooP Theatre, Tisch School of the Arts Broke People Play Festival, and beyond. Always keen to take on another project, even (and especially) when that project entails the task of self-production, Robert has seized the opportunity to try on the many hats of a theatre maker, including directing, acting, marketing, sound design/musical composition, and more.

On his Past Productions page, you can take a look inside some of Cantillon’s theatrical productions!

As a musician, Robert began playing the guitar over a decade ago, and hasn’t gone a day since without picking it up. In New York, he is band leader and frontman of Rob Cantillon & the Pocket 10s, a rock band which performs his original songs alongside classic covers ranging from Tom Petty to Billie Eilish. The band has performed at such illustrious small venues as The Bowery Electric, The Delancey, Pete’s Candy Store, Connolly’s Pub, and Berlin Under A, to name a few, and has to date released two singles, both in 2023: ‘Got To Get Away’ and ‘Going Postal’.

On his The Pocket 10s page, follow the band’s releases, show calendar, and general updates!

Cantillon’s first and greatest passion in life is writing, and everything that has followed from that has formed the basis of his artistic journey. He is always hard at work on the next project, including planning both readings and fully staged productions of his work to come in late 2024/early 2025, and another Pocket 10s single set for imminent release! He is eternally grateful to all those who have supported him and joined him on his journey thus far, and he is always eager to meet his next collaborator, set his sights on his next project, and get back up under the stage lights for another show.
